This is inspired by the seasonal  winter flowers that have bloomed on our terrace this year . I may add some finishing touches to this painting to bring out the vibrancy that they deserve.

This was a special request from my 7 year old. The original one that I had done ( also in mixed media, but a different version) was sold and since then she has wanted a similar one all for herself with a strict dictat not to sell it. I like both the versions but am perhaps slightly partial to the original one. It is posted in an earlier blog of mine. You decide :)

This iconic feature of Calcutta ( Kolkata as we now know it) will disappear one day. What better way to preserve it than on ink.

WILDERNESS

This 36 x 30 inch is my latest work, done with acrylic on canvas. I hope I have managed to achieve what I had set out to do, that of showcasing the morning sun rays filtering in through the dense woods. There is still a bit of minor detailing to be completed in this painting.

THE AWAKENING

This is an 18 x 22 inch charcoal and pastel work on canvas. The focus - both figuratively as well as metaphorically is on the strong  light streaming in through the window, enlightening the darkness within the person praying.
